Founded in 2011, Darul Ansar Centre for Applied Learning (DACAL) is a dedicated resource centre under Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam (AHI), committed to empowering children with special needs such as intellectual disabilities, autism, Down’s syndrome, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Guided by the belief that “each child is unique,” DACAL provides tailored educational and therapeutic interventions to help children unlock their full potential.
Our mission is to enable children to achieve their true learning potential through informal, innovative, and compassionate methods. An interdisciplinary team of special educators, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and counselors work together to develop structured Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), focusing not only on academics but also on communication, social, and behavioral development.
We offer a range of programmes including an Early Intervention Programme for children aged 2.5 to 5 years and remediation support for children up to 12 years. Depending on the child’s progress, we aim to mainstream them or integrate them into the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) programme available at DACAL.
Additionally, we offer vocational training such as weaving therapy, carpentry, computer education, bakery, confectionery, and tailoring, equipping children with practical life skills.
With regular assessments, home-based programs, counseling support for parents and wardens, and continuous training for our staff, DACAL strives to ensure that no child is left behind.
Our vision is to create an inclusive environment where every child’s abilities are recognized, nurtured, and celebrated, helping them lead confident, fulfilling lives.
